Worst towing company ever. They are nothing but liars. I was told a price do I got the money and gave them my address and they took my vehicle to the wrong address. And they refuse to stay at the price they gave me and went up way more.
Service was absolutely smooth!!! I appreciate the responsiveness of the owner!!! They got my car their in one peace and with no damage done at all!! I’ll definitely recommend them!!

I can honestly say that this was the best towing experience I ever had. I’m in sales and drive for a living so I have been towed many times. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire in the construction area if I-64. My company contacted a towing company and I was pleasantly surprised. City Wide arrived promptly. I was shocked. (In the past I have waited up to 2 hours for other tow trucks). City Wide is professional, very organized and a very clean tow truck to ride in. (I have been in some dirty, smelly tow trucks over the years) I highly recommend them and should I need another tow in the Newport News/Hampton area I am asking for them by name. Thank you City Wide for turning a bad situation into a not so bad one!!!

Stayed the night at a hotel and was parked on the other side of building still connected to the hotel and they still towed me with the sign saying I could park there
I called City Wide Towing and Victor answered the phone. He was very friendly and professional. He let me know how quickly he could get to my vehicle and even arrived sooner than expected. He hooked up my vehicle like an expert and even waited patiently while I retrieved my personal property from the vehicle. Called AAA for towing and RONALD from Freedom Towing and Recovery, Newport News, VA arrived at the time promised by AAA. It was a great pleasure to have Ronald assist me with my car. He was so kind, and he has good vibes; nice smile, very polite, and very pleasant looking. I hope I get to see him again the next time I a tow! Thank you , Ronald.
Jevon was A+. Called AAA because I locked myself out of my car and Jevon with freedom towing showed up very fast, was super efficient and had exceptional customer service.
This company is the worst! On June 29, our vehicle was hit from behind by a freedom towing vehicle. The police were called, there were no injuries, a report was not filed. We exchanged phone numbers and insurance information. After leaving the scene the driver texted us openly admitting that he was not paying attention as he was on his tablet. We had been stopped for several seconds. Additionally, the driver wanted us to settle this outside of insurance which was declined. The driver gave us false information and is refusing to return calls or answer insurance. This resulted in us being responsible for filing under our insurance and paying the deductible. We have reached out to Freedom Towing several times requesting to speak to a supervisor and have been told they will call us back. We have yet to receive a call back. Freedom needs to take responsibility for the acts that their dishonest employees perform. This is completely unacceptable.
DeShawn was my tow truck driver and he was amazing patient kind and communicative. I used freedom towing before, and I would recommend them to anybody!! They’re super fast and all of the technicians and drivers I have dealt with have been professional kind patient people.
B. Jones responded to our call for help, a dead battery. He was there within 10 minutes and after checking out our car’s battery, replaced it with a new one and within 40 minutes, we were on our way home. Mr Jones was friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. Thanks so much!

I needed a truck picked up from our lot to go to a mechanic, they stated they can only take payment in person at the time of pickup. Offered to pre-pay via an invoice or card and they don’t offer that. They need to definitely get with times or make a payment solution for company who has used them for 8+ years. Will have to look elsewhere for someone that can meet our needs. They were great in the past but maybe something changed. -The Tree Masters
I cannot say enough positive things about Cousins Towing. Our alternator went out while we were heading home from vacation and we were stuck on the side of the road with mechanics in the area quickly closing for the weekend (it was a Saturday afternoon). Every other place we called was hours out on pickups or not answering their phone. Cousins understood our predicament and made it a point to not only get to us quickly, but send a truck big enough to transport our family to the mechanic’s, too. Our driver (Jake, I think it was) had our vehicle up on the bed in minutes and was incredibly helpful. Thanks again, Cousins Towing! You guys are awesome!
do not go here. my boyfriend recently needed a bar replacement for his tire and they overcharged him by 400$. labor shouldnt be that high whatsoever. they also decided to steal his car fluids that he had in the back trunk and rummage in his belongings in the front console. this is not a good place to get your car inspected because they will take advantage of you. they think just because its a mom and pops establishment that im not gonna find a way to send the review but i will. everyone in newport news needs to know not to go here. i shouldnt have to call the office just for them to tell me to call back in the morning?? thats ridiculous. dont steal peoples things.
Took about an hour to get a truck to my location, I'm not sure if that's a reasonable response time - I don't know what else they were doing when I called them, and beggars can't be choosers, I guess. The driver was a pleasant fellow and knew what he was doing. The cost was $95.
Great shop, fixed my truck up quickly and for a fair price. Good communication as well, I highly recommend.

Unacceptable. The way this company speaks to people (that arent beneficial to there needs) inhumane. People have lives as well and the fact that you guys are fast to disregard is sickening to me. Just be kind to people you never know what's someone is going through outside your company. Empathy can go a long way
Excellent service; reasonable pricing, very professional and conscientious. I felt compelled to leave an honest review after reading a few other negitive reviews left by people which had their vehicle towed due to their own negligence (not the towing service’s fault if you park illegally) or were simply impatient, leaving a review based on their wait time as opposed to the overall service they received. My F350 was disabled about 4 miles from home in a shopping center. After a google search for towing in my area and a call to Pop’s to check cost and availability a driver named David was dispached with a roll-back wrecker to take my truck home. My initial call was answered immediately and curtiously. Information was provided promptly after I answered a few questions regarding my vehicle. They scheduled my tow for the next availability of their roll-back wrecker best suited to handle my truck. Their driver David contacted me shortly afterwards to coordinate and arrived promptly. David showed professionalism in securing my truck to the wrecker in a manner so as not to damage my expensive aftermarket suspension components. I was also pleased that he was willing to navigate my challenging driveway without hitting the low tree branches in order to drop my truck exactly where I wanted it. I feel most drivers given that obstacle would have left my truck in the street. Thank you Pop’s Towing for a great experience in a not so great situation.
Worst service I've encountered with a towing company. Was directed by police to call another tow company because the vehicle in a private lot was illegally parked and Pete's (contracted company) was unable to tow. The owner of the lot and the contracted tow company recommended this company. The guy who answered got a bad attitude with me and told me the police would never tell me what they told me. Ignorance, laziness amd not knowing all there is to know about his line of work is no excuse. I would not recommend this company to anybody but would consider other alternatives.
Terrible customer service . Doesn’t take responsibility for putting sticky notes on people’s cars for no reason. Unprofessional and annoying . Edit: They aren’t the ones literally driving around apartment neighborhoods “putting sticky notes” on people’s cars. It’s the Security of the properties that do this …. And they allow it. They allow the security of these properties to put these big bright a** sticky notes on VISITORS cars then act all shocked when people call them upset cause they have to scrape this sticky a** , big a**, bright a** sticky note off their car.
They should remove the one star and put a turd to better express what these people are about. They left my vehicle in a lot and was driving out of the lot as we were pulling in. We were told they would be there in 45 minutes by insurance company. They arrived early and when we say we would be there in 13 minutes the driver was nasty. Dispatch was helpful but the driver was disrespectful. We arrived 10 minutes later and the driver was driving off. I called and said you just passed me and he lied and said he had been waiting 15 minutes. Note to idiot . All of my calls are recorded and it also tells what time the call started and ended as well as every word said. Don't use these people for anything. We reported them to the insurance company and they contacted the owner as well as put them on the do not use list. I save conversations and if they want to dispute anything I say feel free. Ready to put you on blast.

My vehicle was towed illegally. They towed my vehicle when no signs were posted saying do not park or anything of that matter. When talking to them they were extremely rude and kept repeating that the car was parked illegally. After paying $125 to get the car I then went to take pictures of where it was parked, which no parking signs are posted. This company is not even a decent company where you can have a discussion, everything they have to say is very rude and disrespectful. It’s quite obvious that they need to work on their customer service aspect of running a company!
Worst experience EVER. Lady at front desk is the most entitled, disrespectful and unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. She ask me for my ID to which i handed it to her and when i refused to dialog with her and said I just want my car, she threw it at me and threatened to call the cops because she felt "Threatened" by me for not talking. A guy named Bubba came and handled the situation more professionally but it was still the worst experience ever.
Beware!!! Predatory Towers! This company towed my Handy Man’s truck because he was parked in my front yard unloading material and ladders for a large job in my house. I live in a HOA and the bylaws state it must be parked for 24 hours and a written notice must be given before towing and he was only parked there for not even 2 hours!! No note or anything left. Violated the bylaws and was illegal towing. Will be taking legal action against them. After reading all of their horrible reviews I’m surprised they are still in business and not in jail!! They also damaged his truck. Please do yourself a favor a stay away from this company! They are the worst! They get zero stars but I had to give them one to be able to leave a review.
This place is the most unprofessional and rude business I have ever been involved with. My car was towed from my apartment because of expired tags. When I went to pick it up, they would not let us pick up the car because we did not have the title. We had temporary tags in our name and the registration in our name. We drove all the way to Norfolk to get the paperwork they were asking for and the dealership could not find our title. They gave us other substantial paperwork and when we returned, the owner (a woman) made copies of everything and said we were good to go. She said she had to wait on her husband so we could get the car and she would call us when he returned. This was around 1 o'clock. I never received a phone call from anyone. We also already paid our fees for them holding the car. The woman told us she would have our car towed to our work place for all of the waiting and inconvenience. After calling several times, another man tells me that around 6:30 the owner called to tell him not to release our car. How is this legal?? We have documents with our names saying the car is ours and we paid for it already.... The lady couldn't even call to explain to ,e why they were holding the car. Not to mention, I have a 2 year old son and I wasn't even allowed to get his car seat out of my own car. I don't understand how you people can be so inconsiderate of other people who have jobs and families. You are all about making your money and just down right selfish. If i had the option to rate your company with no stars, I would have.
My experience was really different than some of the other reviews. Our car had been hit and had to be towed from the highway. We could not get to them until late in the evening to pick up the vehicle, but they were very courteous, and worked to get us on our way quickly.

If I could leave negative stars I would. They have these agreements with these apartment complex and be towing paying tenants cars for no reason. Got the car back and it's making a noise that it wasn't making at first. Reported it as soon as I pulled off their lot and heard the noise. Came back during working hours as instructed to only be told that I have to pay for something to get fixed that they messed up because they "tow at the customers expense". And if it is deemed by another mechanic that they messed it up during the tow then they would reimburse me. Then the fact that one of the workers wanted to be disrespectful throw his hands and walk away while trying to get a resolution is very unprofessional and disrespectful. While sitting in the parking lot waiting for whomever Javier is to return and answer my question witnessed multiple other people come to get their cars that were towed from their complex that they are paying rent to live at.
It just came to my attention that this company doesn't have a license to tow cars I'm so confused , do I need to file a complaint and get my money back ..
This towing company clearly targets high-end and well-maintained vehicles in our complex while ignoring other violations. It feels like they’re more focused on towing cars that look valuable rather than enforcing fair and consistent rules. This isn’t about parking violations — it’s about making money off selective towing. Residents and visitors, beware.
They towed the car I borrowed while my car was in the shop out of a parking spot I pay for monthly. When I called, I was told I should have "notified them" that a different car was going to be there. Where was this due diligence when there was an unauthorized car parked in my spot a week ago when I got home from work at 1AM and had nowhere to park? They only "make their rounds" when they cant make money anywhere else.
Thieves. Stole my car from my own apartment complex I pay to live at. Charged me $200 (CASH ONLY) to get my car back from them after 1 hour of having it. Very sketchy business and personnel working there. Such a shame companies like this exist.
